Alison Rae Sunseri
Art Educator | Artist | Explorer
The culmination of Alison’s personal experiences with art teachers and in classrooms throughout her life drove her to become an art educator. Through teaching and making, she hopes to inspire a more creatively productive society. Alison received a Bachelors in Fine Art from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a dual degree in Sculpture and Art History. She then completed a Master’s of Science in Art Education at Northern Illinois University in December 2018. Her teaching pedagogy involves ethics of the classroom as a community space for students to explore their unique identities. Alison’s personal studio practice asks viewers to quietly contemplate how one’s daily actions, rituals, and simple interpersonal communications drive the interconnectedness that links us to one another and the natural world. Please see my artist statement for more information about my professional studio practice. Alison is currently a studio art teacher at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois and Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Illinois. When Alison is not in the art classroom, you can find her exploring the natural world, grooving to funky tunes, and spending time with the many wonderful doggies and people in her life. |
